My mom was was also put in a wheel chair to sit for hours without her buzzer to call for assistance and this is a huge safety issue. Numerous times we had to call the front desk to get someone down to her room. Bathes should happen twice a week and it was over 10 days after her first bath before they came back for a second one and that was only because I called and complained. During her stay she was left in diapers all day with no attempt to build up strength by getting her up to use the bathroom. Food was cold and barley edible this stay as well.

They have several selections and alternate menus. The rooms were comparable to other places, and the room size was fairly standard. The place is a little bit older, but it's kept up and clean. Based on our experience, their staff was on top of things.

They never ever followed the cardiac diet that was prescribed and gave the excuse that "our cardiac diet is different from the hospital's". Don't bring your loved ones here if they have any secondary health problems. Maybe if you are going just for PT it may be ok but if your loved one has to be on any diet or prescribed medications etc RUN and RUN FAST. Very disappointed in this place. Patient care communication between therapy, nursing, physician assistant and the business office were very sparse. Some therapy personnel and nurses were very kind and it could be much worse. If you don’t stay engaged and call yourself consistently about your loved one, you would probably never know a thing.

The staff was very attentive and very accommodating. Everyone was really accommodating and terrific there. They would call me when my mom was getting a little sick. I was there every day and for almost every dinner. They have an area where they have a piano and people would come. They have a good place where they did rehab in there as well.

When we had our evaluation meeting and I voiced my concerns they said after he was there 10 days at that point he started two days prior to this making improvement. However post that meeting and my concerns that made them very defensive I received a phone call that my fathers ins coverage said he was done hmmmm?? They say not coincidental but seems a bit unreal. The list goes on and on suffice it to say I would never refer this establishment again. I was told it wasn’t the same and this was disheartening for my loved one. It is worth mentioning that Medicare pays for what they deem as 'medically necessary' skilled nursing care.

They are kind, friendly and very considerate of the seniors. They have regulated my Mother-in-laws medication, gotten her out of the room to participate in activities and are constantly in and out of her room checking on her. Her quality of life has improved as a result. Nightly my family and I witnessed phone ringing that drove us crazy and the same for the patients. My father was not clean there if I didn’t wash him up nightly, remove his dentures to clean them wash his hands, clean the food off his face, shave him I’m not sure anyone would. Also some of the lost clothing that miraculously was found the morning he was leaving that’s because I had to keep buying new sweatpants sorry I missed tagging a pair!

This used to be a five star facility in Macomb County and their lack of staff and compassion this last visit was totally unacceptable. Caring for our elderly population in nursing homes and rehabs is a hard job and staff shortages are abundant but if there isn''t enough staff to care for residents properly than they shouldn''t be taken in. Average response time when when a buzzer was pushed for assistance was unacceptable and many times when someone came in they would just turn off the buzzer and then not return.

Food and dining is an important consideration when selecting a nursing homes facility. Three meals a day are offered to residents, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to the standard meal programs, this community has low-salt, low-sugar, and other special diets available for residents who require them. Nursing Homes can be an expensive senior care option, so cost is typically going to be a consideration when looking at alternatives. The average starting cost of this facility is the slightly higher than the average cost in this area.

Finding Child Care for Sick Kids: A Working Mom's Guide to Sick Kids

Typically, a contagious child will be given a room of his or her own while other children who have minor illnesses or who are not contagious can play together. Children are grouped according to their type of illness to avoid new exposures. The question of requiring full payment for sick days does not have an easy solution, but alternative payment plans can be explored. Consider raising your monthly fees in exchange for a discount for days missed.

how to care for a sick child at home

We have always hated when our precious little ones get sick with colds, flu, diarrhea, tummy aches. When children get sick, parents stay home during the critical times. But when the child is recuperating, parents call us for sick child care. We understand that sick child care requires more sensitivity and training than typical babysitting. When you select someone to provide sick child care, remember that our Nannies are trained and experienced in providing compassionate care.

Make your child to gargle with warm water:

It can save precious minutes in the morning and make you much less frazzled. Once isolation and quarantine are completed, your child, family and other contacts should continue to follow local guidance on the prevention of COVID-19 spread in the community. If your child is isolated, it is best for your child’s primary caretaker to quarantine at home. Household members who test positive should isolate.

Dry your baby and keep her covered with a light blanket. The best treatment will be keeping them hydrated and using a humidifier or cool air to make breathing easier. If they stop being able to swallow or have difficulty breathing, get medical help as soon as possible.

Health

For children over 6 months old, give your child plenty of warm fluids. "Many arrangements self-destruct because parents aren't prepared," says Michelle LaRowe, author of Working Mom's 411. But most parents will need to consider these strategies. Continue to breastfeed your child if they become ill.

Sleep on the other hand makes you strong that helps you to fight against the infections that cause sickness. A few drops of lavender in your baby’s bath before the bed may help to have better sleep and recover soon from the illness. Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, a 340-bed facility in Richmond, and one of the largest for-profit hospitals in the country, in April closed its inpatient pediatric and pediatric intensive care units.

In conclusion, dress your child in lightweight breathable clothes and ensure that they have plenty of rest and take plenty of fluids. Be aware of the symptoms, OTC medications and frequent communication with your doctor. Besides the medication the rejuvenating thing that children need all the time is emotional support from their parents. Statewide in Texas, pediatric inpatient beds were at 92 percent capacity in November, one of the highest occupancy rates in the country, according to federal data.

Their immune system is working on fighting off RSV, so the least they can do is give their body time to recover. Respiratory syncytial virus is peaking sooner than normal, causing concern among doctors, older adults and parents of children who’ve come into contact with the respiratory virus.

But these women's situations illustrate the lengths working parents must go to when their carefully calibrated child-care arrangements fall apart. Many use all of their resources to get through a typical day and have little flexibility and no Plan B—no grandparent, friend, or neighbor to step in if a child is ill. You should seek urgent care if a baby is unable to breastfeed, or if a child suddenly appears confused, refuses to eat, or if their face or lips turn blue. Reassure your child that you will look after them and with some time and rest they will feel better. It’s normal to experience a range of emotions, such as feeling stressed, anxious, sad, scared and angry.

While anyone can get RSV, and it typically goes away on its own in under two weeks, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention , RSV results in about 58,000 hospitalizations and up to 300 deaths among children under 5 each year. For adults 65 and older, RSV causes 177,000 hospitalizations and 14,000 deaths each year. Your child should continue to wear a mask around others for another 5 days.
